SVTCart Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us when you create an account, list a product, place an order, contact a seller, raise a report or dispute, or write to our support team. We also collect limited technical information generated automatically when you use SVTCart, such as device type, browser, and pages viewed, so we can keep the marketplace secure and working correctly.

2. Account Information

When you register we store your name, email address, phone number, password (hashed by our authentication provider — never in readable form), account role, and the verification state of your email and phone. A phone number is mandatory to create an SVTCart account.

3. Phone and Email Verification

Where available, we use a one-time password to verify that you control the registered mobile number. Email verification is handled separately through an email OTP or confirmation link. If mobile OTP delivery is unavailable, SVTCart may use email verification as a fallback; completing email verification does not mark the mobile number as verified.

4. Seller Information

Sellers provide a display name, business type, category, contact email, mobile number, business address, and where applicable GST or identity documents. This information is used to verify the seller, meet legal obligations, settle payouts, and resolve buyer disputes. Documents are stored in private storage and are visible only to you and authorised SVTCart reviewers.

5. Second-Hand / Pre-Owned Sellers

Second-hand sellers additionally provide item condition details, defect disclosures, photographs of the item, an approximate location, and a comparable market price. Condition and price declarations are reviewed by our team before a pre-owned listing becomes publicly visible.

6. Address and Delivery Information

We store the delivery addresses you save — house or flat number, street, area, landmark, country, state or union territory, district, city or town, PIN code, and the contact name and phone number for delivery. A seller receives only the delivery details needed to fulfil an order they have accepted.

7. Optional Location Information

You may optionally share your device location to see nearby products and sellers. Location is requested only after you explicitly tap the option, can always be skipped, and can be declined in your browser. We use approximate location for discovery only. Exact GPS coordinates are never published on public product or seller pages.

8. Product and Listing Information

Product titles, descriptions, categories, specifications, pricing, stock, warranty details and images that you submit as a seller are stored and, once approved, shown publicly on the marketplace. Do not include personal or sensitive information inside listing text or photographs.

9. Payments

Online payments are processed through Razorpay. SVTCart does not receive or store your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials. We keep only the payment status, amount, payment method type, and gateway reference identifiers needed for reconciliation, refunds and accounting. Gateway identifiers are kept separate from your internal SVTCart order number.

10. Orders and Transactions

We retain your order history, invoices, shipment and tracking records, returns, refunds, cancellations, commissions and seller settlement records. These records are required for tax, accounting, warranty, dispute and legal purposes and are retained even where an order is cancelled or hidden from your active orders view.

11. Communications and Notifications

We send transactional messages about your account, orders, listings, payouts and support cases by in-app notification and email. You can control optional notification categories from your settings. Security and transactional messages cannot be switched off while your account is active.

12. Reviews, Messages, Reports and Disputes

Reviews you publish, messages you exchange with sellers or buyers, reports you file and disputes you raise are stored and may be reviewed by our trust and safety team. Reviews display your name and are public. Messages, reports and dispute evidence are visible only to the parties involved and authorised SVTCart staff.

13. How We Use Information

We use your information to create and secure your account, verify identity, publish and moderate listings, process orders and payments, arrange delivery and returns, settle seller earnings, prevent fraud and abuse, provide support, personalise product discovery where you have allowed it, and comply with legal obligations.

14. Sharing of Information

We share information only as needed: with the seller or buyer of a transaction, with our hosting, database, email and payment providers acting on our instructions, with delivery partners for shipments, and with authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.

15. Seller and Buyer Visibility

Public seller pages show only a display name, category, rating, review summary and an approximate location. Seller email addresses, mobile numbers, GST numbers and identity documents are never exposed publicly. Buyers are identified to sellers only by the name and delivery details attached to an accepted order.

16. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use strictly necessary browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart and language, and protect against abuse. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

17. Data Security

Access to your data is enforced at the database level by row-level security policies, so records are readable only by the account that owns them and by authorised staff roles. Documents and personal images are held in private storage served through short-lived signed links. Secrets and provider keys are held server-side and are never exposed to the browser.

18. Data Retention

We keep account, order, payment, tax and dispute records for as long as your account is active and thereafter for the period required by applicable Indian accounting and tax law. Verification codes, session data and draft listings are kept for much shorter periods.

19. Account and Data Requests

You can view and correct most of your information directly from your account settings. To request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account, write to contact.viswateja@gmail.com. Some records must be retained where the law requires it even after account closure.

20. Children's Privacy

SVTCart is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly create accounts for children. If we learn that an account belongs to a child, we will close it and delete the associated personal information.

21. Third-Party Services

SVTCart relies on third-party providers for hosting and database services, authentication, transactional email, and payment processing. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. Links to external websites in listings or messages are outside our control.

22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy as the marketplace evolves. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or by email. The date below shows when this version took effect, and continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

24. Consent and Acknowledgement

When you create an account, list a product, place an order, or otherwise use SVTCart, we process the information necessary to provide the service you request, secure the marketplace, complete transactions, meet legal obligations, and enforce our terms. Where a specific use of information requires your consent, we will ask for it separately and you may withdraw that consent, subject to applicable law. Acknowledging this Privacy Policy does not amount to blanket consent for every possible use of your information.
